Home away from home

The garden is such a chill spot to soak up the sun. Bob and Jane were super cute. The kitchen was perfect for cooking up some meals with friends, and I really enjoyed breakfast. Just a heads up, some shops are a bit of a drive away.

Secluded location, at a moderate distance from Secret Garden. Delightful and incredibly comfortable room & lovely bed.

The location was marvellous, for example, a grand 14th - century manor was around 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel. It was located in a domestic area very close to Powderham Castle, Buckfast Abbey, Buckland Abbey and Lydford Gorge as well as buses. The breakfast offered a lot of options and was great and excellent.

The hosts, Bob and Jane, were cute and added a personal touch. Breakfast was a delight, with flavorful options that left me satisfied each morning.

Local pub closed.

Consider visiting Rodean restaurant for a good dinner, just a short walk away.

Bob and Jane's hospitality, and the spacious room was perfect for our family. The garden was also a fantastic spot to relax and soak up some sun.

In my wife's opinion, a play area for kids would be great.

The warm hospitality and cozy atmosphere really made my stay special. I loved the spacious room with a lovely welcome tray and the amazing breakfast that filled me up every day. I enjoyed unwinding in the beautiful garden and taking some time in the comfortable lounge, which were perfect spots to relax. Just a heads up, the shower tray was a bit slippery, but it didn't dampen my overall experience! 🌼

charming stay but needs some touches

The Old Vicarage features beautiful period decor that made our stay feel special. The breakfast was fantastic, with freshly cooked options that catered to different tastes. Bob's warm hospitality made us feel at home, sharing stories during our meals. The location was ideal for our wedding at Powderham Castle, just a pleasant stroll away.

An cute atmosphere created by Bob. The light and airy King or Twin Room was not only comfortable but also beautifully presented. Each morning, we savored an excellent breakfast prepared with care, having multiple choices that catered to different dietary needs. I was particularly impressed by the nearby recommendations for local restaurants, including a good spot just next to the charming village church with an lovely dining experience.

The decor, while charming, could benefit from some updating.

We enjoyed the warm hospitality and good breakfasts every morning. The house exudes charm and is close to a wonderful restaurant in the village, perfect for a cozy evening out.

The spacious room provided a cozy retreat, while the enchanting garden offered a perfect spot to unwind in the sun. A highlight was the breakfast with classic fried fish, showcasing Bob's talent in the kitchen. The limited breakfast options left something to be desired, and the nearby local amenities required a bit of driving, inconvenient. There was a minor issue with the slippery shower tray that could pose a risk.

The breakfast here was delicious and exactly what we were looking for.

The location of this place was great, not too far from the charming old town.
